ALEXANDER SEEDS

How beautiful are these?? I love this picture. This is what it looks like at this time of year September - it looks very different and can be used very differently earlier in the year April/May when it can be eaten very much like a vegetable or a culinary herb. It tends to be found near the sea, but these little beauties were found right here in Bristol city centre. At this point in the year the seeds (as pictured) can be used like a spice, much like pepper. Its also called Horse Parsley as 🐴 like to graze on it. It was brought over by the Romans but has been largely replaced in our cooking by celery.

Anyway if you do go foraging by the coast (and as always be safe and know what you are picking) try and find this one. A lovely spice to season your food through winter time.

I love that it can be used as a substitute for pepper.
