PANTRY GOALS

Honestly not trying to blow the pantry trumpet here 🎺 BUT how good does this look? No plastic packets in sight. I can actually SEE what I can make for dinner.

There’s some weird and wonderful ingredients in these lovely jars peeps. Okay it definitely looks prettier too but it also makes eating life a bit easier. No packets of nuts festering away at the back there, no more lentils slowly losing their colour or dried pulses squashed in with the unused lasagne sheets slowly but surely becoming fossilised.

I’m trying to buy less from supermarkets and more from home delivery fruit and veg boxes and from some of the amazing stores here in Bristol offering an alternative way to lessen your impact on the #environmental burden.   Stores like @preservefoodsbristol #scoopawaybristol @zerogreenbristol offer zero waste shopping by encouraging their customers to shop and bring their own containers to hold the produce. It sounds crazy, awkward and downright inconvenient. But it really isn’t! It bloody works and feels pretty satisfying going home with a big haul and not a single plastic bag. Nothing to unpack! Now I don’t look in despair at my bin after a big shop, filled to the absolute top with un-recyclable and completely unnecessary single use plastic. Feels, a bit better. And did I mention it’s like waaaaaay cheaper buying in bulk?!
